The Medical camps were conducted by JANA UNNAYAN SAMITI TRIPURA (JUST) at Naisingpara on 24.7.2014, Ashapara on 25.7.2014 and Hazacherra on 26.8.2014 and 26.8.2014. Dr Animesh Debbarma, MBBS, Mr Milan Debbarma, Medical Representative (MR) along with Mr Bruno Msha, Project Coordinator examined the 701 patients from three relief camps who were having various diseases like malarial fever, diarhoae, stomach pain, jaundice, headache, scabies, cough, ringworm, gastric, etc. Among 701 patients, 247 persons are male while 375 are female. 80% of the total number of people who attended the camp underwent blood test for malaria and 10 of them detected positive. The field office staffs under JUST, Health Volunteers, ASHA Workers and PHC Anandabazar staffs also rendered their help the Medical Team for doing blood testing, registration of patients and arranging of the patients in queue, writing Doctor’s Prescription slips, etc. The 43 persons have died from 1st June to 5th August, 2014 in all seven relief camps. But the inmates are reluctant to report names of death persons to the concern Government authority of Tripura. The Government is so quick to delete names of death persons to stop their relief rations and cash-dole whereas they are extremely tough to include the names of newborn children in the relief Registers. The people have extended their gratitude to JUST for organising medical camp in such time of needs while the malarial fever outbreak had started in Bru IDP camps.
