The life of poor displaced person changed through Umbrella repairing work. Mr Bolendro Chorkhy 48yrs S/O Lt. Pondeham Chorkhy was displaced from Tuipuibari village of Mizoram in the year 1997 and presently living at Ashapara relief camp at Block-B surviving with meager relief distributed by Central Government of India. He has two sons and two daughters. All four of them are still living with him. They are very poor and could not have even square meal and also could not send any of his children to school. Mr Bolendro used to work as a casual labour and run his family before. But, fortunately he was selected for training on Umbrella repairing conducted by JUST at Ashapara relief camp in the year 2009. After completion of one month training course in the month of June, he had started the umbrella repairing work at home every day. He could earn approximately Rs. 250/- everyday and during the rainy season he could earn Rs. 600/- per day. With this income his family could lead a better life and send some of his children at JUST Academy School and some of them in normal local schools.
